FAQ for Perfect Fit Blinds

Perfect Fit blinds are suitable for most uPVC windows and doors. But there are instances where they may not be suitable, for example if there isn’t at least 25mm clearance between the glass and air vents or other obstructions or if the glass panes have any trims or beading attached. Aluminium, Wooden and Composite windows and doors do not generally have a rubber bead, to hold the Perfect Fit brackets securely, but this doesn’t make them unsuitable. To be sure, use our Perfect Fit Frame Kit to the system on your windows and/or doors. The Perfect Fit brackets are not usually suited to wooden windows and doors. Many customers, however, have successfully fitted Perfect Fit blinds to wooden frames, by screwing them on. We welcome photos and/or videos of your windows, so please do not hesitate to reach out if you’re unsure. Please note that the design of Perfect Fit Roller and Shutter blinds differs to those of other Perfect Fit blinds and are not suitable for bi-fold doors.

No Perfect Fit blind is 100% blackout, but with a Perfect Fit Honeycomb Blackout fabric, a near blackout can be achieved. Light will filter between the fabric and the blind frame, but if opting for Hive Blackout or Astral Blackout the fabric itself is 100% blackout.

In short, the answer is no. All Perfect Fit blinds include an aluminium frame that sits stands proud of the window or door frame, preventing any window or door being able to slide over any pane it is fitted to.

Perfect Fit blinds are suitable for most uPVC bi-fold doors, as well as some aluminium bi-fold doors. It’s important to remember that a minimum of 25mm clearance is required, on all four sides of the glass, for the Perfect Fit frame to sit. Be sure to look out for handles, hinges and air vents.

Use our Perfect Fit Frame Kit, found HERE, to check the clearance, bead depth and colour. A frame kit will also be useful in determining whether the Perfect Fit blind will prevent the doors from folding back fully.

INTU Micro blinds, our bi-fold door best seller, may well be much more suited to aluminium bi-fold doors.

Perfect Fit Pleated or Honeycomb blinds are suitable for some Velux windows, usually with a 54mm bracket. To check their compatibility, we recommend ordering a Perfect Fit Frame Kit HERE. There are other roof windows, such as Keylite, that may also suit our Perfect Fit Pleated or Honeycomb blinds. We do not recommend the use of Perfect Fit Roller blinds for roof windows.

No. The Perfect Fit brackets slide between the rubber bead and the glass of your window. They do not interfere with the seal of the glass unit.

We’d always recommend ordering one, to be on the safe side. The frame kit will allow you check the following: Bead Depth – The correct bracket size will ensure the blind frame fits neatly against the window frame. Frame Colour – We offer many different frame colours so it’s a good idea to match them up Clearance – A minimum of 25mm clearance is required on all four sides of the “visible glass” for the Perfect Fit blind frame to sit. Handle Opening – Fit the frame kit alongside any window handles to ensure they still open properly. If a handle is obstructed by the Perfect Fit frame, this can usually be resolved with the fitting of handle spacers.
