Grip Fit Roller Blinds for Solid Window Recesses
GripFit roller blinds are designed specifically for recess installations where the surrounding wall is solid enough to support the pressure-based bracket system.
Instead of screws or wall plugs, the GripFit brackets expand outward and apply controlled pressure against the sides of the recess. The gripped pads hold the cassette securely in place while keeping the blind aligned and stable during operation.
They are often installed in bathroom window recesses with tiles, kitchens where drilling into tiles is difficult, rental homes where permanent fixtures are restricted, bedrooms and living rooms with solid recess walls, and window openings where drilling could damage the finish.
Because the blind sits entirely within the recess, the installation remains neat and contained while still allowing the roller mechanism to operate smoothly.
Why Choose GripFit Roller Blinds?
GripFit roller blinds provide the same light control and fabric options as standard roller blinds while removing the need for drilling or permanent fixings.
No drilling required: The push-fit bracket system secures the blind in place using pressure rather than screws.
Ideal for tiled recesses: GripFit blinds are frequently chosen for bathroom windows where drilling into tiles is not practical.
Removable installation: The blind can be removed without leaving marks or damage to the window recess.
Quick installation: Once measured correctly, the cassette can be installed in minutes without specialist tools.
Compatible with blackout fabrics: GripFit roller blinds are available in both light filtering and blackout fabrics depending on the room.
Checking If Your Window Recess Is Suitable
GripFit roller blinds rely on pressure between the brackets and the recess walls, so the surrounding surface must be firm enough to support the system.
Suitable surfaces typically include brick, tile, solid plaster, and wood frames.
If the recess wall flexes when pressure is applied, such as unsupported plasterboard, the system may not be suitable.
GripFit brackets can apply up to 60kg of outward pressure, so testing the solidity of the recess before ordering helps ensure the blind will install securely.
Measuring for GripFit Roller Blinds
Accurate measuring is important because the blind is designed to fit precisely inside the window recess.
We recommend measuring the recess depth to confirm there is at least 80mm of clearance for the cassette, measuring the recess width at the top of the window, measuring the drop in three places and using the longest measurement, and checking for handles or other obstructions that could affect the blind.
Our measuring guides are available to walk you through each step. Free fabric samples also allow you to confirm colour and light control before ordering.
