No Drill Shutter Blinds for Windows & Doors

No drill shutter blinds are designed to sit flush within the glazed area, creating a structured shading solution that works well on windows and doors that are opened regularly. Because the blind moves with the window, there is no swinging fabric and no need to raise the blind to access handles.

They are commonly fitted to uPVC windows, conservatories, bay windows (with one blind per pane), shutter blinds for French doors, and many glass back doors.

Each blind is made to measure to your visible glass size, ensuring the frame and louvres are proportioned correctly for the pane rather than adjusted from standard dimensions.

On doors, the framed design keeps the blind stable when opening and closing, helping maintain alignment over time. Perfect Fit® Shutter blinds are not suitable for sliding doors, as the frame sits proud of the glass and would interfere with the sliding movement.

Why Choose Perfect Fit® Shutter Blinds?

Shutter blinds operate differently from fabric or slatted blinds. The framed louvre panel remains in position while light is adjusted, allowing privacy to be maintained without raising the blind.

Key benefits include:

  • Controlled light adjustment: Rotate the louvres to reduce glare or redirect daylight while keeping the panel fully lowered against the glass.

  • Maintained privacy: Light can be filtered into the room without exposing the full pane, which is particularly useful on street-facing windows and doors.

  • Framed, structured finish: The enclosed panel creates defined edges within the glazing area, introducing depth without requiring permanent shutter installation.

  • No drill installation: The Perfect Fit® system clips between the glass and bead, avoiding screws or permanent fixings.

  • Stable on doors: Because the blind moves with the door, the panel remains aligned during regular opening and closing, reducing movement and wear.

Perfect Fit® Shutter blinds are often selected where a more defined window feature is preferred over fabric, while still retaining the flexibility of a removable, made-to-measure system.

Shutter Blinds for French Doors

Shutter blinds for French doors are a popular choice where a neat, close-fitting solution is required. The Perfect Fit® system allows each glazed panel to be fitted individually, so the blind moves with the door rather than needing to be raised before opening.

The adjustable louvres help manage privacy from neighbouring properties while still allowing natural light into the room. This is particularly useful on rear-facing doors or garden access points where maintaining privacy without blocking daylight is important.

As with all Perfect Fit® systems, it’s important to check handle clearance and bead depth before ordering to ensure the blind operates smoothly.

FAQ for Perfect Fit® Shutters

Perfect Fit® Shutters clip directly into the window bead using discreet brackets that sit between the glass and the decorative rubber seal. This creates a secure frame around the glazing without drilling into the window frame. The shutter panel remains fixed within this frame and the louvres are adjusted using a tilt rod to control light and privacy.
Traditional plantation shutters are usually fixed permanently to the window recess or surrounding wall. Perfect Fit® Shutters use a removable frame that clips onto the window itself, allowing installation without drilling. This keeps the window sill clear and allows the shutter to move with the window when it is opened.
Perfect Fit® Shutters are designed primarily for uPVC windows. To install the brackets, the decorative window bead must typically have a depth between 18mm and 30mm, and there should be at least 25mm of clearance for the shutter frame to sit comfortably within the glazing.
Shutter blinds are not a blackout system. Tilting the louvres reduces light significantly, but small gaps between louvres mean some light will remain visible.
Yes. Shutter blinds for French doors are commonly chosen because they sit within each glazed panel and move with the door when opened or closed.
They may be suitable in some bi-fold configurations where each panel has its own glazing. However, the frame may affect how doors fold in certain systems, so clearance should be checked carefully before ordering.
Yes. Perfect Fit® Shutter blinds can be unclipped from the window frame to allow access to the glass. Once cleaned, the blind clips back into place without affecting alignment.
Yes. We stock a range of Perfect Fit® replacement parts, allowing individual components to be replaced without removing the entire system.
